Tub & Shower Units, Valves and Trim — Dickson & Waverly, TN
Whether it is a full tub and shower unit for a remodel or a single cartridge to stop a dripping shower, DC P&E stocks the bathing side of the bathroom. We carry Mustee and Diamond units, Delta valves and trim, and the pans, surrounds, drains and repair parts that go with them.
One-Piece or Multi-Piece?
This is the decision that trips people up, and it is worth settling before you order.
| One-piece | Multi-piece | |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | Strongest, no seams | Sectional joints |
| Leak risk | Lowest — nothing to seal | Seams need proper sealing |
| Getting it in | Will not fit a standard doorway | Assembles in place |
| Best for | New construction, gutted bathroom | Remodel in an existing bathroom |
Measure your access as carefully as your alcove. A one-piece unit that will not make the hallway turn is a problem you discover on delivery day.
Repairing Rather Than Replacing
A dripping shower or a diverter that will not hold rarely means the valve body has failed. Most of the time it is the cartridge, and that is a stocked, inexpensive part. The catch is that cartridges are brand and model specific — a cartridge that looks nearly identical is frequently not interchangeable.
Bring the old cartridge to the counter, or know the faucet brand and model number. If you have neither, a photo of the trim and handle is often enough for our staff to identify the line.

Unit dimensions, drain locations and rough-in details. Check these against your framing before ordering — dimensions vary between models.
Sizing Note
The common residential alcove is 60 inches wide, with tub depths generally around 30 to 32 inches. Treat that as typical rather than universal: verify against your actual framing and check the spec sheet for the specific unit before ordering. Drain location — left or right hand — also has to match, and it is an easy thing to get backwards.

Common Questions
Should I buy a one-piece or multi-piece unit?
One-piece units are stronger with no seams to leak, but they will not fit through a standard doorway — practical for new construction or a gutted bathroom. Multi-piece units assemble in place and are the usual remodel choice. Measure your access as well as the alcove.
Do you stock shower valve cartridges?
Yes — cartridges are one of the most common repair parts we sell. They are brand and model specific, so bring the old cartridge or know the faucet brand and model. A cartridge that looks similar often is not interchangeable.
What tub and shower brands do you carry?
Mustee and Diamond for units and pans, Delta for valves and trim, among others. Anything we do not stock can be custom ordered.
What size is a standard tub alcove?
Commonly 60 inches wide, with tub depths generally around 30 to 32 inches. Verify against your framing and check the spec sheet for the specific unit — dimensions vary by model.
Do you install tub and shower units?
No. We supply the units, valves and trim. See our Trusted Local Pros for independent local plumbers and remodelers.
